This 993 version, managed under Champion Racing, was driven by the great Hans-Joachim Stuck, Bill Adam, Thierry Boutsen and John Fergus during the 1996 IMSA GT Daytona 24 hours under the GTS-1 class. It qualified in 14th position but retired following an accident on the 181st lap ending 54th overall and 21st in class.

UT made this model way back in 1998, 8 years from the time of writing and to tell the truth, I only got it cause of the subject matter. I genuinely love the 993 shape and really couldn't miss out on a 993 GT2 EVO.
The overall shape and stance is actually quite impressive. It does really look good from a distance. The paint job, livery and wheels are also quite attractive. But whilst looking at it up close, you'll start noticing various problems. And by various I mean a lot.

Just for starters, even though the livery is accurate, the whole thing is a decal. It is a poor, easy to degrade decal. Then again, I have been lucky to find an example in an ok condition, even though, in some areas, the decal is already curling up and breaking.

Even worse, in my opinion, are the vents. They are just painted black! I can understand decals, being an old model and all, but vents?! Luckily it is a norm nowadays. The exhaust has the same issue; they are just very slightly excavated.

If you find the exterior detail low, you're going to hate the interior. The engine is practically null (No, there's no shot of it, what's the point?) and front compartment is missing tones of details. I am not sure about this, but I expected the car to have an enormous fuel cell stored up front.

The cockpit's doors are supported by enormous dog legs, and maybe one day, I'll have the courage to take a picture of it and link it (any requests?). At least it does have a rollcage and the seat does look ok, but the dashboard is absolutely hideous with a large toy like decal instead of a proper set of dials.

Wheels are not bad overall. Neat shiny chrome and an ok axle detail. The caliper is fixed while the disk rotates with the wheel! I wasn't expecting that one.

Undercarriage is poor in detail, ugly overall and the same as all other 993 from UT. Just don't look at it, it's a waste of bandwidth.

All in all, I am happy to finally own one, but that's just because I love Porsche. Thankfully, it does look extremely good exterior wise, but other than that, it's not better than a Maisto and worse than that, wheels and decals degrade easily!
