UT made various Porsche models in their range, this one being the Porsche 911 993 Supercup #1 version. I first saw this car on the internet and fell instantly in love with it. Being an old model (I got it in 2005) I thought I would have some trouble finding it. But luckily, a small store at Tas-Sliema (in Malta) had a couple of these and I got it right away.

Instantly, I saw that UT really did a nice job with this car. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find some suitable pics to compare with. But the proportions seem spot on. The colours are very nice and model is really an eye catcher, one of my favourites!

As I said before, the colours are very nice, the red is deep and rich but everything else is a decal! The silver, yellow and blue plus all the other colours you see are decals and unfortunately one of them has begun to develop a crack! I hope I can save the rest. The front headlights, indicator and smaller lights are nice, a not too bad reproduction in my opinion. I found that the back lights are a bit better though. They look more realistic. The worse part of the back end are the exhaust tips, they are excavated, but for just a few millimetres.

The model has full opening features, front, doors and the rear open. As with most older models, the opening features are dog legs.

The front part opens up to show some nicely done details, nothing extreme as my 917/30, but its simple and ok by my standards for a model of this age. At the backside, the 993 model shape hides most of the engine detail. So only a little bit can be seen, parts seem to be individualised and most are coloured. Again, an OK engine for UT.

The passenger doors open and the first thing you see are those ugly dog legs. YUK! The cockpit as a whole is probably the worst part of this model. Yes, there are some details but everything seems very crude. The seat is a piece of hard plastic with seat belts moulded on it and coloured. The gauges are a large decal and the steering wheel is a bit too toyish. Its nice to see a roll cage though. There are some other small details aswell.

The rim and wheels are very nice. The rubber is marked in yellow Pirelli and the rubber itself is a bit soft as well. The rim is not too shiny and simulates a real rim very well. Behind each tyre, the car has a brake. On a downside, BOTH the calliper and disk are static! Also, the disk is not very well detailed.

The undercarriage shows a bit more engine (very crudely) and nothing else as it is sealed. It seems that UT used a standard undercarriage for ALL of their Porsches!

Anyway, in conclusion, I do not really recommend this car if you give attention to details. Its a nice colourful car but it lacks on other important areas. It is a car that you have to love. It would have been a much better model if UT had used tampos rather than decals nonetheless, it has and will surely hold its spot in my Porsche collection!
